The Opportunity - Per Diem Nocturnist Cross-Cover Seeking Hospitalist physician assistants and nurse practitioners. Primary point of contact for nursing staff for adult inpatient needs during the overnight shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Respond to urgent clinical situations, including bedside assessments as needed. Assist with overnight admissions (typically 0-1 per night). Provide cross-coverage for approximately 100-130 adult inpatients. In-house Physician back up. No ICU responsibilities. Current national certification, DEA, and ACLS are preferred. Previous hospitalist/inpatient experience is preferred. Candidates wanting to work in an academic setting with current residents desired. Current VA state license is a plus. 12-hour shift, 7p-7a. The Practice Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center - Midlothian, Virginia 185-bed hospital. Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center, and STEMI Receiving Center. Annual volume of 12,000 with an average of 20 admits per day and 10 admits per night. No procedures required unless desired. Onsite labs and imaging. Variety of sub-specialty backup available including anesthesia, cardiology/EP, infectious disease, Heme/Onc, and more. State of the art facility with recent bed expansion and renovation.
