ATC West Healthcare is seeking a Board Certified Gastroenterologist for urgent locum tenens coverage with ongoing monthly call needs beginning in June and extending into 2027. This inpatient-only opportunity is based at a Level 1 Trauma Center and requires providers who are proficient in both ERCP and EUS procedures. The role focuses on GI consultative services, acute GI care, endoscopy coverage, and emergency call responsibilities in a high-acuity hospital environment.

    • 24-hour call shifts (7:00 AM 7:00 AM)
    • 5 7 days per month ongoing

Job Details & Responsibilities
  • Practice Setting: Inpatient only
  • Facility Type: Level 1 Trauma Center
  • Responsibilities:
    • GI consult service coverage
    • Evaluation and management of GI conditions
    • GI bleed management
    • Endoscopy procedures
    • ERCP and EUS procedures
    • General inpatient gastroenterology coverage
  • Patient Volume:
    • 8 10 new consults/follow-ups daily
    • 5 8 scopes per day
  • Patient Population:
    • Adult, geriatric, and limited adolescent trauma patients
  • GI service does not admit patients
  • 24/7 intensivists, hospitalists, and trauma services onsite
  • EMR System: Epic
  • Support Staff: None listed
  • Reason for Coverage: Ongoing scheduling gaps
EMR & Onboarding Requirements
  • Completion of Epic modules and virtual training is mandatory before start date
  • Pre-application and full credentialing application must be submitted immediately for urgent coverage dates
  • Providers must provide:
    • Years of Epic experience
    • Last Epic usage date and facility
    • Time zone for virtual training scheduling
    • Contact phone number and personal email
    • Badge-quality photo
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Board Certified in Gastroenterology required
  • Gastroenterology fellowship required
  • Active Colorado license or Active IMLC LOQ required at submission
  • Active DEA required
  • ERCP and EUS proficiency required
  • Candidates must be available for at least some listed dates to be considered for ongoing coverage
  • Candidates must specify monthly shift availability in presentation
  • Clean malpractice/background highly preferred
  • Self-Query NPDB report required at presentation
    • Must be dated within 30 days of submission
  • Emergency privileges possible within 1 2 weeks for providers with a clean file
