We are seeking 2 experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to join a high-volume cardiac and thoracic surgery team. This role is ideal for APPs looking to transition to permanent positions in a dynamic, hands-on surgical environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with pre- and post-operative patient evaluation and treatment
OR first assist for:
Coronary artery bypass and valve surgeries
Aortic and aortic arch reconstruction
Robotic-assisted thoracic surgeries
VATS and DaVinci robotic procedures
Endoscopic vein harvest and open radial artery harvest
Manage ICU and step-down patients
Perform emergent floor procedures (chest tubes, arterial lines, etc.)
Conduct daily rounds, discharge summaries, and wound checks
Participate in evening, night, and weekend surgeries and patient rounds
Support walk-in/urgent clinic visits when the primary surgeon is unavailable
️ Note: Must have thoracic surgery experience to assist with robotic procedures. Limited experience APPs may only cover cardiac OR or floor.
ScheduleM F: 3 4 call days + 1:4 weekend rotation
Typical hours: 7:00 AM 3:00 PM (variable; call days may extend + hours)
Weekend call: 6 8+ hours, includes 24-hour pager coverage
Hourly: $210 $220
Board Certification in Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery (APP residency/fellowship required)
State License: Washington preferred (IMLC considered)
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, DEA
Clean malpractice history
Minimum 3 years of CV/CT surgery experience
High-volume team: 5 permanent surgeons (3 cardiac, 2 thoracic)
4 mid-levels (3 PA, 1 NP, 1 in training)
Average cases/week: 6 8 cardiac, 9 12 thoracic
EMR: EPIC
Support staff: RN
Patients/day: 20 adults
