Overview
Following ALARA protocols, the radiological technician, performs routine and emergent radiographic imaging using ionizing radiation to produce quality x-ray and/or CT exams. (ALARA - The radiation dose should be As Low As Reasonably Achievable.)

Role Overview

Perform radiographic procedures at a technical level without constant supervision. Assume responsibility for procedures performed and related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program
• ARRT registry or registry eligible (must achieve within 6 months of hire)
• Understanding of basic anatomy
• Ability to lift, move, and transport patients

Preferred:

• State licensure (required in Arkansas)
• Proficiency in radiographic equipment & processors

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

• Technical skill in radiologic procedures
• Understanding of basic anatomy
• Ability to:
  • Manipulate x-ray equipment (including mobile units)
  • Carry cassettes & select exposure factors
  • Evaluate radiographs
  • Lift, move & transport patients
  • Stand & walk for extended periods
  • Recognize emergencies & adapt to stress
  • Communicate effectively
