Job Description

Position Title: Quality Manager

General Description
    • Lead, direct, and develop Quality Group personnel in execution of SL Tennessee Quality procedures

    • Provide product and process support to internal and external functions between SL Sites & all external customers

    • Provide Quality Management support to SL America & uphold SLTN Quality Management System Aspects

    • Support & Direct quality systems development and maintenance

    • Track, maintain, and manage all Quality KPIs for the SL Tennessee manufacturing site


Responsibilities

  • Manage activities of the Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Test/Metrology Labs, SQE, and Systems Management Teams

  • Provide support and direction to your team in the resolution of internal and external product, process quality, and engineering concerns

  • Support and improve manufacturing processes and products utilizing engineering, quality, and project management skills

  • Provide internal and external Quality support through all phases of product development and manufacturing

  • Support customers and internal process by defining aspects of product realization, lessons learned implementation, and read across

  • Primary corrective action facilitator through leadership of preventative & systemic corrective actions within the team

  • Lead Lessons Learned read across & Continuous Improvement Activities as they pertain to the Quality Team

  • Interfaces with all departments to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout all organizational levels

  • Provide support and direction in the resolution of internal and external product and process quality and engineering concerns


Job Requirements

Work Experience

  • 7+ years experience in an automotive manufacturing environment with a Proven Background in Quality Management

  • 2+ years in a management role within a manufacturing setting

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field

  • Associates degree with Professional Certifications and relevant years of experience in the Quality Field

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Efficient management of skilled personnel in a team setting

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills for internal & customer communication

  • Thorough knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and products

  • Thorough knowledge of testing methods, principles, equipment, and specifications

  • Thorough knowledge of customer requirements (Quality, Engineering, Specifications)

  • Interpretation of 2D/3D prints with extensive GD&T background

  • Good organizational and communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Minitab, and ability to utilize CAD Viewer programs.

  • Thorough knowledge of Quality systems & procedures while leading quality initiatives

  • Working knowledge and understanding of ISO and IATF automotive requirements.

  • Thorough knowledge of APQP and Customer PPAP requirements.
