Job Overview

The Director will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and overseeing daily infection control activities for both inpatient and outpatient settings, catering to patients of all ages. Collaboration with other technical and professional staff is essential for sharing insights and addressing interdisciplinary challenges. The role includes preparing reports and statistics in line with regulatory standards, organizational directives, and on an as-needed basis. The Director will facilitate the Infection Control Committee, maintain relevant statistical data, and serve as a resource for individuals, department heads, and committees. Additionally, the Director will identify educational needs related to Infection Control and implement necessary training programs. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Compliance with regulatory agency standards is mandatory, and the Director will be responsible for reporting any identified safety concerns, such as hazardous environments or medical errors, ensuring that the department adheres to all applicable policies, laws, and regulations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in the healthcare sector.
  • Leadership experience is essential.
  • One to three years of experience in Infection Control.
  • Certification in Infection Control is mandatory.
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN licensure with the New Jersey Board of Nursing is required.

Essential Functions
  • Exhibits professional behavior in accordance with ethical standards.
  • Regularly develops statistical reports and plans to ensure safety during construction projects, collaborating with relevant parties to create Infection Control Risk Assessments.
  • Conducts daily surveillance of patient or staff situations that may lead to infections and implements measures to mitigate risks.
  • Sets annual goals and objectives while evaluating the Infection Control Program.
  • Identifies educational needs and conducts in-service training to address them, supporting the activities of the Infection Control Committee.
