Job Title: Locum Tenens General Cardiologist (MD/DO)
Location: Williamsport, Pennsylvania
Position Overview We are seeking a Board-Certified General Cardiologist (MD/DO) for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Williamsport, PA. This role includes a mix of clinic coverage, inpatient responsibilities, and call, with strong support and a manageable patient load.
Schedule & Coverage - Minimum Availability: 1 2 weeks (Monday Sunday) per month
- Clinic Hours: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
- Weeknight Call: 5:00 PM 8:00 AM
- Weekend Call: Saturday Sunday, 8:00 AM 8:00 AM (24-hour call)
- Full-time availability preferred, with ongoing coverage needs
Clinical Responsibilities - Inpatient rounding and consults
- Reading cardiac imaging
- Performing TEEs and cardioversions
- Occasional proctoring of stress tests
- Average 3 10 patients per day
- Average 5 6 new consults per day
- Patient population: 98% adult / 2% pediatric
Call Details - Call types: In-house and telephone
- 30-minute response time required
- Average 5 admissions while on call
- Most calls handled remotely; minimal in-person call-back
- Occasional emergent cases (e.g., stat TEE for dissection rare)
- Must remain within 30 minutes of the hospital during call
Support & Facility Details - APP (PA-C) support typically 8:00 AM 12:00 PM
- Provider works independently after morning support
- EMR systems: Epic and Cerner PowerChart
- On-site specialties include:
- CT Surgery
- Vascular Surgery
- Interventional Cardiology
- Interventional Radiology
- Trauma/ACS, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery
Requirements - Board Certified in Cardiology
- Active Pennsylvania License (required)
- DEA (PA) required
- Certifications: ACLS & BLS
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- IMLC candidates accepted (must have license in hand at presentation)
