Job Description
Locums - Medical Oncology Greenville, SCAvailability- Start: July 1, 2026
- Minimum commitment: 6-month initial contract required
- Coverage will extend beyond Dec 2026
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- Call coverage is back up call 7 days per week and performing inpatient rounding on that weekend when on call
- Clinic coverage: 8:30-4:30
- Weekend call rotation: Fri (4:30) - Mon (8am) - every 5th or 6th weekend
Licensure- South Carolina License: Required
Certifications- Board Certified: Hematology & Oncology (Required)
- BLS: Required
- DEA: Required
- Clean background: Required for temp credentialing
Key Deal-Breakers- Must be willing to participate in inpatient coverage (required)
- Must be able to see more than 12 patients/day
- Candidates unwilling to do inpatient will not be considered
Experience- Adult and geriatric oncology/hematology
- Must be comfortable with both:
- Outpatient oncology
- Inpatient hematology/oncology rounding
- Experience expected in:
- Tumor board participation
- Bone marrow transplant management
- Blood bank coordination
- Ordering imaging and diagnostic testing
- Chemotherapy oversight (administered by nursing staff)
Facility & Setting- Free-standing Cancer Center
- Reason for coverage: Provider loss
- EMR: Epic
- Patient population: Adult and geriatric
Clinical Scope- 65% benign hematology
- 35% malignant oncology
- No internal medicine component
- Outpatient + inpatient responsibilities required
- Tumor board participation required
Patient Volume- Outpatient: 25 patients/day
- Inpatient (rounding): 20 patients/day
