Why This Role Exists
This role exists to support growing aerospace production demand across precision turning operations. At Barnes Aerospace, this position plays a key role in machining forged aerospace components to tight tolerances for long-term commercial and defense programs.
The Work You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Set up and operate CNC turning centers in a production environment
- Run multiple machines within a machining cell when feasible
- Machine aerospace forgings and components to tight tolerances ( .001")
- Read and interpret blueprints, tool setup sheets, and operation instructions
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspection using precision tools
- Load and unload parts manually or using hoists
- Adjust offsets, replace tooling, and troubleshoot machining issues
- Maintain quality and safety standards throughout production
Machines, Controls & Software
- Machines: Mazak, Okuma, Doosan, Mori Seiki turning centers
- Controls: Fanuc
- Inspection Tools: Micrometers, dial indicators, gauges, profilometers
Materials You'll Work With
- Inconel
- Titanium
- Stainless Steel
- Aluminum
What We're Looking ForRequired:
- 3+ years CNC turning experience
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T
- Experience with setups, offsets, and tool changes
- Comfortable holding tight tolerances
- Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
Preferred:
- Aerospace machining experience
- Multi-machine / cell experience
- Fanuc control familiarity

Pay, Benefits & Schedule
Pay Range: $28 - $38/hr (DOE)
