1. POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides general gastroenterology services within a multispecialty medical group. The role includes outpatient clinic care, endoscopy procedures, and collaboration with a dedicated GI hospitalist team that manages inpatient rounding.
2. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide general gastroenterology care in outpatient and procedural settings
• Perform endoscopic procedures in dedicated endoscopy suites
• Conduct evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and ongoing management
• Collaborate with advanced GI specialists, GI hospitalists, and tenured APPs
• Participate in call rotation covering multiple hospital locations
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using EMR and AI enabled tools
• Support quality and performance improvement initiatives
3. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Physician with qualifications in Gastroenterology
• Board Certified or Board Eligible
4. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in high volume GI practice
• Interest in working alongside advanced GI specialists

6. CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide gastroenterology services across outpatient and procedural settings
• Perform endoscopic procedures in dedicated suites
• Collaborate with GI hospitalists who manage inpatient rounding
• Utilize Epic EMR and AI scribe technology to support workflow efficiency
7. ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in departmental operations as assigned
• Support practice growth and patient access initiatives
8. WORK SETTING & ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment: Hospital; Outpatient; Clinic/Private Practice; Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)
• Outpatient GI clinic
• Endoscopy suites (mapped to ASC per system rules)
• Hospital affiliated GI service with inpatient support
• Multispecialty collaboration with advanced GI specialists and APPs
9. SCHEDULE & CALL REQUIREMENTS
• Monday Friday, typical workday timeframe
• 1 2 clinic days per week
• Endoscopy suite procedures on remaining days
• Call rotation: 1:9 weeks
10. REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position reports to Clinical Leadership and collaborates with gastroenterology, hospitalist, and multispecialty teams across the organization.
