We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support the financial operations of a real estate and property portfolio. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, producing timely financial reporting, and partnering with property leadership on budgeting, reconciliations, and analysis. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to manage cash activity, lease-related accounting, and month-end close responsibilities. Responsibilities:
• Oversee treasury activities by monitoring daily cash positions, managing cash movements, and preparing short- and long-range cash flow forecasts.
• Create and submit capital or funding requests to investors, ensuring supporting details are complete and accurate.
• Coordinate documentation required to establish new banking or wire relationships and maintain related reference records.
• Evaluate accounts receivable aging reports, identify collection risks, and recommend appropriate reserves or write-offs when necessary.
• Lead accounts payable operations, including payment processing, vendor file maintenance, wire setup, and resolution of vendor questions.
• Administer lease accounting processes and confirm transactions are recorded in accordance with the applicable accounting framework, including more complex lease arrangements.
• Prepare reconciliations for operating expenses and real estate tax recoveries in line with lease terms, management agreements, and other governing documents.
• Review journal entries and account reconciliations prepared by accounting staff, and handle more technical or complex entries as needed.
• Execute month-end close activities, analyze general ledger activity, and prepare monthly or quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules in partnership with property or project management.
• Support annual budgets, forecasts, and audit requests by developing revenue projections, performing variance analysis, assembling reporting packages, and providing requested documentation.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
