Job Description

Our client, a leader in facility management and building operations, is seeking an Operating Engineer to join their team. As an Operating Engineer , you will be part of the maintenance department supporting the onsite engineering team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical expertise, adaptability, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Operating Engineer

Location:Redwood City, CA

Shift: Monday - Friday: 7am - 4pm

Pay rate: $35/hr

Assignment Duration: This is a temporary assignment expected to last approximately 2 to 2.5 months.

What's the Job?

  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across various systems including HVAC, chillers, boilers, and other mechanical systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal performance of building systems and equipment.
  • Monitor and record system readings, making adjustments as necessary to maintain efficiency and safety standards.
  • Assist in inventory control, purchasing, and managing contracted maintenance services.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment.

What's Needed?

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
  • Ability to analyze the operation of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems and take corrective actions.
  • EPA 608 Type II Certification is required; EPA 608 Universal Certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency with computer applications such as Word and Excel.
