Job Description

JOB SUMMARY As a Mechanical Designer, you will be an integral part of the Downstream Platforms & Technology department, leading design and drafting activities for a development program. Your primary responsibilities will involve creating, documenting, and managing electronic drawing files using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD for custom-designed process equipment utilized in global manufacturing locations. You will take ownership of preliminary mechanical drawing packages, integrating them across multiple equipment configurations while upholding equipment standardization and company drafting standards. This role requires you to complete all drafting work, including creating and revising 3D models and associated drawings, prior to their release. You will also design mounting systems and layouts for mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components, and collaborate with suppliers to specify and integrate pneumatic components. On-site presence is crucial for documenting existing system configurations on the production floor, requiring hands-on skills for measurement capture, component identification, and understanding basic system functions. Key Responsibilities • Create 2D drawings from existing 3D models. • Create 3D models of new components. • Collect data from engineering teams and incorporate information into appropriate drawings. • Collect measurements/information from the production floor to incorporate into drawings. • Submit drawing packages to be released through the Engineering Change Request (ECR) process. • Ensure all drawing packages comply with industry standards and safety regulations. Required Qualifications • 0 - 3 years professional experience in the mechanical design / drafting field. • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Engineering degree. • Working knowledge of ASME/ANSI drafting standards. • General Windows-based computer skills. • Proficient in the use of Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault software. • Able to adapt to company standards and guidelines. • Ability to use basic measurement tools. • Strong work ethic. • Strong attention to detail. • Creative thinking. • Ability to safely operate and perform assigned tasks within a production environment. • On-site presence required for training and documentation. • Hybrid work schedule available after fully trained, with significant initial time required in the plant. • M-F, 8am-5pm base schedule. Certifications • Drafting Certificate/Certification (considered in conjunction with other technical degrees) Education: Bachelors Degree
