Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: The Lab Assistant supports Research & Development activities by assisting in laboratory operations, including reagent and media preparation, maintaining lab cleanliness, and supporting microbiology-based projects. This role requires hands-on lab work, adherence to SOPs and cGMP guidelines, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment Prepare media and reagents based on project and weekly requirements Clean laboratory hoods, glassware, and equipment Perform equipment validation and routine maintenance checks Assist in drafting and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Follow SOPs, batch records, and controlled documentation processes Ensure compliance with cGMP regulations and safety guidelines Collaborate with team members to compile, analyze, and interpret data Support short- and long-term R&D projects Stay updated with relevant scientific literature Perform other assigned duties as required Required Qualifications: Associate's Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related field Minimum 1 year of relevant laboratory experience Experience in microbiology, biology, biochemistry, or chemistry labs Familiarity with media and reagent preparation Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as pipetting, weighing, and serial dilutions Basic lab math and unit conversion skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Good written and verbal communication skills Valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Quality Control principles and cGMP regulations Experience using autoclaves Familiarity with phage biology and aseptic techniques Experience with media/reagent preparation in regulated environments EXPERIENCE: 1+ year of laboratory experience EDUCATION: Associate's Degree in a related life sciences field Education: Associate's Degree
