To provide efficient investigation, evaluation, and adjusting of casualty claims.
Casualty Claims Representative Responsibilities
Investigate and interpret policy as it pertains to the loss, evaluate liability, negotiate settlement or declination, and defend Farm Bureau insureds according to Farm Bureau insurance contracts. Accomplish function under general supervision with emphasis on customer service and controlling loss and loss adjustment expenses.
Evaluate insurance coverage based on loss notice, insurance policies, applicable statutes and case law to determine if insurance coverage is afforded.
Obtain all documentation necessary to determine liability and damages of alleged bodily injury or property damage through a thorough investigation focusing on key issues.
Casualty Claims Representative Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required or equivalent experience may be considered.
Minimum one to three years experience in casualty claim handling or commensurate insurance experience required.
Upon hire, additional license(s) may be required. Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire. AIC, AINS or SCLA designations required or must be completed within 36 months of hire. Familiarity and prior usage of Guidewire, ClaimCenter and Microsoft Office products required.
Designation in CPCU, SCLA or similar insurance designation preferred, or actively being pursued.
Note: This is a work from home position covering the state of Michigan. Must live in the state of Michigan. If a candidate is not selected, an Associate Casualty Claims Representative may be considered on the level of experience and qualifications.
