Perform preventive maintenance & other proactive activities to monitor & maintain equipment condition Monitor equipment status using local & remote visual management devices Effectively perform maintenance activities for your area during machine intervention events Verify utilities team activities are being performed adequately, and give feedback for any procedure modifications that are needed to continue to drive equipment uptime. The St. Paul Park Refinery has a full-time opening for a Rotating Equipment Mechanic. This position works Monday - Thursday, 6:30 am to 5:00 pm. Off hour overtime may be required. The Rotating Equipment Mechanic's main job duties are to perform job tasks that maintain the refinery's critical pumps, compressors, blowers, etc. along with other duties and projects as assigned. Pump mechanic and millwright training will be provided as needed per candidate skill level. The company does not train on inside machinist skills. Candidates will be required to pass a competency test, which includes a written test and a machinist skills demonstration. Written Test: Assesses candidate knowledge and skills with power tools, rigging, scaffolding, lubrication, mechanical seals, gaskets, metallurgy, tubing and fitting, pipe threading, torches, fasteners, presses, cutting tools, and hand tools. Position Summary: The primary role of the Propane Service Technician is to drive and operate the service crane truck and occasionally the cylinder delivery truck. You will deliver, set, and install propane tanks and gas lines when needed, conduct system tests, and purge cylinders and tanks while maintaining all related documentation according to safety regulations. Position Responsibilities: Customer Service & Communication: Represent the company in a professional, respectful manner. Communicate clearly with new and existing customers, resolve concerns helpfully, and maintain a superior standard of service. Safety & Compliance: Promptly notify your supervisor of any issues that may impact safety, customer satisfaction, or productivity. Tank & System Maintenance: Set, repair, and maintain tanks and cylinders. Install first-stage lines, conduct pressure/system tests, and ready installations for inspection. Gas Handling: Purge propane cylinders and tanks, fill storage containers, and perform basic outside leak repairs. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a service technician in the propane industry. Licensing: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) (Tanker and Hazmat endorsements are heavily preferred). Equipment Certification: Valid Crane Operator Certification (e.g., NCCCO Mobile Crane Certification). Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes (such as NFPA 54 and NFPA 58) and applicable DOT and OSHA requirements.
