The Associate Program Director's primary responsibility will be to work with the Program Director to coordinate, and manage the monthly didactic curriculum, ensuring high-yield, board-relevant, and engaging academic content that supports resident development and aligns with ACGME standards. Assist with annual program evaluation, and recruitment. Participate in CCC and PEC meetings and serve as a mentor to residents Collaborate with the Program Director to foster a culture of excellence in education, professionalism, and wellness. The Designated Education Officer (DEO) is the designated VAMC employee who has oversight responsibility for all health professions training at the VAMC. The DEO receives guidance on Health Professions Education (HPE) program requirements from the VHA Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA). The DEO provides leadership, advice, and subject matter expertise in tasks, projects, and assignments related to HPE programs. Provides policy development, analysis, decision making, and implementation activities affecting the VA health care system. Responsibilities and duties are described in VHA Directives (OAA 1400 series) and summarized below.
