You'll conceptualize and deliver complex mechanical structures and systems and your technical duties include the design and development of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.

Must-haves:
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
  • Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Expertise with CATIA (preferably V6)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required


Preferred:
  • Expertise with CATIA (preferably V6)
  • Familiarity with Dassault 3DExperience and/or Enovia
  • Expertise with kinetic modeling applications for mechanical systems
  • Experience developing new designs for aircraft mechanical systems and structures such as Landing Gear and Flight Control attachments
  • Familiarity with basic stress modeling and dynamic loads analysis
  • Ability to review engineering for completeness and and compliance to requirements
  • Ability to lead an engineering team across a range of design functions
  • Experience as Project Engineer with establishing basis of estimates and schedules for new design elements
  • Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
  • Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal Analysis
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes
