Must-haves:
- Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
- Understanding of engineering principles and practices
- Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
- Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- Expertise with CATIA (preferably V6)
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Preferred:
- Expertise with CATIA (preferably V6)
- Familiarity with Dassault 3DExperience and/or Enovia
- Expertise with kinetic modeling applications for mechanical systems
- Experience developing new designs for aircraft mechanical systems and structures such as Landing Gear and Flight Control attachments
- Familiarity with basic stress modeling and dynamic loads analysis
- Ability to review engineering for completeness and and compliance to requirements
- Ability to lead an engineering team across a range of design functions
- Experience as Project Engineer with establishing basis of estimates and schedules for new design elements
- Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
- Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal Analysis
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
- Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes
