Job Title: Bindery Assistant / Bindery Operator
Location: Raleigh, NC (100% Onsite)
Pay Rate: $17.00/hour
Shift: 3rd Shift - 11:30 PM to 7:30 AM (Training will be on 1st Shift)
Duration: 6 months
Schedule: 8-hour shifts (May transition to 12-hour shifts based on business needs)
Job Overview
We are hiring a Bindery Assistant / Bindery Operator to support production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves operating bindery equipment, maintaining production schedules, performing quality checks, and ensuring all work is completed accurately and safely.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor bindery equipment according to work orders.
Set up, adjust, and operate bindery machines, including:
Polar & Seybold Cutters
MBO Folder
Shrink-Wrap Machine
Inserter Machine
Follow startup, cleaning, and shutdown procedures.
Read and interpret job tickets and production instructions.
Perform quality inspections and follow QC procedures.
Report daily production and material usage.
Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and communicate production concerns.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Assist other departments as needed.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
3-5 years of bindery or printing production experience preferred.
Mechanical aptitude or ability to pass a mechanical assessment.
Basic computer and data entry skills.
Intermediate math skills.
Strong attention to detail, reliability, and time management.
Must pass a color vision test.
Willingness to work overtime when required.
Physical Requirements
Frequently stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks.
Lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
Work around moving machinery in a loud manufacturing environment.
Work Environment
Manufacturing/Production facility.
PPE must be worn at all times.
Steel-toe shoes are required.
Shirts must remain tucked in.
No cell phones are permitted on the production floor.
Additional Information
Candidates may start after a cleared drug test while the background check is still in process.
Overtime may be required during peak production periods.
Strong attendance and safety compliance are essential.
