Position Summary:
The Machine Operator receives instructions from the Team Lead pertaining to the assignments and expectations for the day. Operates cutting machines, threading machines, headers, benders, and a variety of other manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities
• Forklift Operation: Operate heavy-duty forklifts (18,000lb+ capacity frequently required in steel) to move structural steel.
• Machine Operation: Set up, adjust, and operate metal roll former machinery; custom trim machines to cut and shape materials to specifications.
• Material Handling: Transport raw materials to workstations and transfer finished products to staging areas.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere to strict OSHA regulations and company safety procedures, including wearing PPE (safety boots, safety gloves)
Requirements and Qualifications
• Experience: 1-2 years of experience operating heavy, high-capacity forklifts in a manufacturing environment.
• Physical Strength: Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry objects weighing 50-100 lbs.
• Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints, work orders, and use measuring tools (tape measure, calipers), previous experience a plus.
Work Schedule: 1st shift Monday - Thursday (6:00am - 4:30pm) with Overtime as needed on Fridays and Saturdays at times.
