Location: Cedar Rapids, IA (No Travel)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (50 hours/week)
Duration: Approximately 3 months with long-term potential
Pay: $23-$26/hr starting, with flexibility for the right candidate (up to $30/hr)
Project OverviewSeeking (2) MIG Welders for a shop-based fabrication project building steel roof sections and structural components. This position is based entirely in the shop with no travel required. Strong performers may have opportunities to move into long-term shop or field roles upon project completion.
Open Positions(2) MIG Welders
Job Duties- MIG weld steel roof sections and structural components
- Weld I-beams to sheet metal panels
- Perform butt welds, fillet welds, and T-joint welds
- Fabricate roof sections approximately 35 feet in length
- Assemble sheet metal sections into larger roof modules
- Follow supervisor direction regarding weld locations and specifications
- No blueprint reading required
This is a highly physical welding position.
- Most welding is performed from a kneeling position
- Welds are completed approximately one foot off the ground
- Must be comfortable working on knees for extended periods
- Mobility, flexibility, and physical stamina are essential
- Entry-level to intermediate MIG welding experience
- Ability to consistently produce quality welds
- Physically capable of working in demanding positions
- Ability to work 50 hours per week
- Valid driver's license required

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
