This position is a DIRECT HIRE ROLE from day one
We are seeking an experienced Tool and Die Maker for a direct-hire opportunity with a stable manufacturing company. This is a first-shift position offering competitive pay and the opportunity to work with a wide variety of tooling and precision machining equipment.
Responsibilities
- Build, fabricate, repair, and maintain jigs, fixtures, machine parts, cutting tools, gauges, and other tooling.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for existing tooling and perform necessary repairs.
- Operate production presses to evaluate tooling and production issues.
- Interpret work orders, blueprints, sketches, sample parts, and written or verbal instructions.
- Select and lay out materials, perform necessary calculations, and determine machining, finishing, and fitting allowances.
- Perform precision machining on vertical and horizontal mills, boring machines, grinders, lathes, CNC equipment, and other machine tools while maintaining close tolerances
- Complete bench work including filing, grinding, polishing, fitting, and adjusting components.
- Weld and solder components as required.
- Repair and rebuild existing tooling, equipment, and accessories.
- Assemble, fit, and fasten mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components as needed.
- Use precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, verniers, comparators, and other inspection tools.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met before production
- Perform routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and preventative maintenance.
- Report equipment malfunctions, defective materials, unsafe conditions, or production concerns to the supervisor.
- Safely operate lifting equipment to move and position materials and tooling.
- Follow all machine guarding and lockout/tagout (LOTO) safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Tool and Die Maker in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong machining skills with both manual and CNC equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing tooling.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
Hours are
Monday through Friday 7am to 3:30pm
The pay is up to $38.00 an hour
