RiverCity Industries is seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator to set up and operate press brake equipment at our South Campus. This position forms sheet metal parts according to drawings, specifications, tolerances, and production requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press brakes, including tooling, back gauges, and machine parameters.
- Read and interpret blueprints, bend notes, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Select appropriate punches and dies and determine proper bend sequences.
- Form parts accurately using established bend calculations and job requirements.
- Verify finished parts using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, angle gauges, and other measuring tools.
- Make permitted adjustments and report drawing, tooling, material, or production concerns.
- Complete required production documentation and properly organize materials, tooling, and finished parts.
- Maintain a clean work area and follow all safety, quality, and production procedures.
Required Qualifications
- At least one year of press brake operating experience.
- Experience with press brake setup, tooling, and sheet metal forming.
- Ability to read blueprints and work within specified dimensions and tolerances.
- Knowledge of bend calculations and sequencing.
- Ability to use common precision measuring tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently and stand, bend, reach, and handle sheet metal throughout the workday.
- Strong attention to detail, dependability, and safety awareness.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating Bystronic Xpert Pro 320 or Xpert 400 press brakes.
- Press brake programming experience.
- Experience forming various materials, thicknesses, and part configurations.
- Forklift or overhead crane experience.
Schedule
The initial training schedule will be Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
The position will later transition to one of the following production shifts:
First Shift
- Sunday-Tuesday: 6:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
- Wednesday: 6:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
Second Shift
- Wednesday: 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
- Thursday-Saturday: 6:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
Applicants must be able to work the assigned production shift. Overtime must be authorized in accordance with company policy.
