Job Title: Machine Operator
Department: Manufacturing
Reports To: Manufacturing Supervisor
Position Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining manufacturing equipment to ensure efficient production and high-quality output. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate production machinery according to established procedures and specifications
- Monitor equipment during operation to ensure proper functioning and detect any issues
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on machines
- Adjust machine settings to maintain product quality and efficiency
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
- Record production data, including quantities, downtime, and defects
- Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major problems to maintenance or supervision
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine operation role preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, or specifications
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Good Attendance required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25-50 pounds as needed
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
Work Environment
- Fast-paced manufacturing setting
- Exposure to moving machinery, loud noise, and industrial materials
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Schedule
- Full-time; may include overtime and weekends, depending on production needs.
- Shifts:
- 1st Shift: M-F, 7a-3:30p
- 2nd Shift: M-F, 3:30p-12a (includes $1/hour Shift Differential)
- 3rd Shift: Su-Th, 10:30p-7a (includes $2/hour Shift Differential)
