Carpet Cutting Machine Operator

McSwain Carpets & Floors is looking for a detail-oriented Carpet Cutting Machine Operator to join our warehouse team. In this role, you'll operate automated and manual cutting equipment to measure, cut, and prepare carpet materials to exact customer specifications - playing a key role in getting every order right, on time, and ready for installation or delivery.
What You'll Do
- Operate carpet cutting machines safely and accurately
- Read work orders and cutting tickets to cut carpet to precise specs
- Inspect materials for defects and verify style, color, width, and quantity
- Label and stage completed orders for installers, drivers, or pickup
- Help maintain inventory accuracy and a clean, organized cutting area
- Support general warehouse operations, including loading and stocking
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Warehouse or flooring industry experience a plus
- Experience with carpet cutting equipment preferred - training provided
- Forklift certification a plus
- Strong attention to detail and basic math skills (fractions/measurements)
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to follow written instructions
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 75 lbs (with assistance as needed), stand/walk for extended periods, and perform bending, kneeling, and reaching tasks in a warehouse environment.
