Job Description Concrete Working Foreman Position Summary The Concrete Working Foreman is responsible for leading and supervising concrete construction crews while actively performing the work alongside team members. This position ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company quality standards, project specifications, and schedules. The Working Foreman serves as the first-line leader in the field by coordinating labor, equipment, and materials while maintaining productivity and promoting a safe work environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and direct daily activities of assigned concrete crews.
- Lead by example by actively participating in all phases of concrete construction.
- Assign work based on employee skill level and project priorities.
- Train, mentor, and develop employees in proper concrete construction techniques and safe work practices.
- Monitor employee performance and provide coaching and corrective guidance when necessary.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
- Coordinate with Superintendents, Project Managers, subcontractors, and other trades to maintain project schedules.
- Complete daily reports, timecards, production tracking, and other required documentation.
- Assist with other industrial construction jobs as needed.
Concrete Construction Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, layout drawings, and project plans.
- Perform site layout and verify elevations and dimensions.
- Build and install concrete forms, including wood, metal, and specialty forming systems.
- Install reinforcing steel, anchor bolts, embeds, dowels, and related components.
- Place, consolidate, screed, float, edge, and finish concrete.
- Perform slab, footing, foundation, wall, curb, equipment pad, and structural concrete work.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and concrete finishing equipment.
- Assist with excavation, grading, and site preparation as needed.
- Ensure proper curing and protection of finished concrete.
- Inspect completed work to verify compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
Equipment & Vehicle Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles and transport crews, tools, and materials to project sites.
- Must be able to drive a company truck and pull equipment trailers safely and legally.
- Operate construction equipment such as skid steers, telehandlers, mini excavators, concrete saws, vibrators, and power trowels as qualified.
- Conduct daily inspections of company vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment.
- Report maintenance needs and equipment deficiencies promptly.
Safety Responsibilities
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Identify and correct unsafe conditions immediately.
- Maintain housekeeping and organization on job sites.
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions when required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial or industrial concrete construction experience.
- Minimum of2 years of supervisory or foreman experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of concrete placement, forming systems, reinforcing steel, finishing techniques, and curing methods.
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug testing, background screening, and any project-specific requirements.

Physical Requirements The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:
- Frequently stand and walk for extended periods on uneven terrain.
- Frequently climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and construction equipment.
- Frequently bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, stoop, and squat.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally with assistance.
- Perform repetitive hand and arm movements while using hand and power tools.
- Reach overhead and below waist level.
- Maintain balance while working on elevated surfaces and around excavations.
- Possess adequate vision (near, distance, depth perception, and color recognition) necessary to safely perform work.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, humidity, and direct sunlight.
- Ability to work around dust, mud, wet concrete, vibration, noise, and other construction-related conditions.
- Must wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, fall protection, high-visibility clothing, and steel-toe boots.
Work Environment
- Industrial and commercial construction sites.
- Exposure to changing weather conditions and construction hazards.
- Overtime, weekends, and travel may be required based on project needs.
Other Requirements
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and remain insurable under the company's vehicle insurance policy.
- Must be able to drive company vehicles and safely tow equipment trailers.
- Must demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Must be able to perform both supervisory responsibilities and the physical labor required of a working foreman.
- Must support and uphold all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
