Peoplelink Staffing is partnering with the aluminum knuckle manufacturer in the world to hire an experienced Furnace Operator for a growing team in Auburn, Indiana.
Pay: $21.00/hour
Shift: 2nd Shift Monday-Friday 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Furnace Operator Responsibilities

• Transport molten aluminum to die cast machines using a forklift.
• Maintain proper metal levels and properties in melt and holding furnaces.
• Charge furnaces with ingot, molten metal, and scrap.
• Perform and record metal temperature checks.
• Produce aluminum test pucks for laboratory quality analysis.
• Make furnace chemistry adjustments as directed by the lab.
• Clean melt and holding furnaces using flux and remove dross.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on furnace equipment.

Qualifications

• Previous furnace or foundry experience required.
• Forklift experience required.
• Experience with molten metal handling preferred, including:
  • Monitoring metal temperatures and metal mixtures.
  • Pouring molten metal from a forklift using a bull ladle.
  • Cleaning reverb furnaces.
• Ability to stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 55 lbs regularly.
• Basic reading, writing, math, and inspection skills.
