Description
JOB SUMMARY
Designs, builds, and maintains UTA's business intelligence data and reporting solutions to deliver trusted metrics and actionable insights across the agency. Partners with business and technical stakeholders to translate analytics needs into reliable data models, curated datasets, and dashboards/visualizations for audiences ranging from frontline teams to executive leadership. Supports data governance and data quality efforts to ensure appropriate use, definitions, and stewardship of enterprise data for decision-making. Develops documentation, standards, and enablement processes that help users adopt BI tools and self-service reporting responsibly. Provides backup support for BI reporting platforms, including scheduling, publishing/QA, and monitoring of automated reporting and BI ETL processes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or Engineering.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience (2-3 years preferred) in data analytics and demonstrated aptitude with Information Builders or similar data visualization software.
- Experience (2-3 years preferred) in data modeling, data scrubbing, and data quality reviews.
- Experience (2-3 years preferred) working with large corporate-wide business data sets and critical business metrics.
- Experience in eliciting business requirements from stakeholders and translating into working technical solutions.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of data visualization and data storytelling.
- Strong working knowledge of business intelligence tools and data query tools.
- knowledge of SQL and Relational database concepts.
- Strong business acumen
- A self-starter who is dedicated with exceptional critical thinking,
- Problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Business Intelligence stack (Fabric, PowerBI, TSQL, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS).
- Analytical skills
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Must have a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to write queries in SQL to extract meaningful
- information from complex data sets.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills to build data models and perform hoc data tasks.
- Ability to work with others and participate in a team environment.
- Self-motivated; willing to work under pressure and stress at times.
- Occasionally, working unscheduled hours and/or weekend work will be required to support critical Agency needs.
- Local travel may be required to support business users remote business units.
- Ability to translate business needs into digestible information for end users
