LIFEGUARD - GROUP HOMES

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older •

Current Lifeguard Certification

• Current Certification in Professional Rescuer CPR and AED Use

• Current training in First Aid

• Sensitivities to the needs and safety of all students


Accountability:

•Accountable to Residence Manager, Coordinator of Residential Community, Coordinator of Support Services and Executive Director


Job Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that all guidelines for pool use (below) are followed

• Responsible for the proper treatment of all pool equipment and for reporting any problems in this area to the Coordinator of Support Services and Coordinator of Residential Community

• Responsible for conducting daily routine maintenance of the pool including cleaning and the closing of the pool daily

• Test chlorine and pH each day (as conditions warrant) and adjust chemical feed equipment as necessary

• Maintain and monitor filtration equipment as necessary • Assure that all safety equipment is in place and in good repair each day prior to use of the pool

• Vacuum pool daily prior to use of the pool

• Responsible for taking immediate charge in the event of an emergency in the pool area: ordering pool evacuation, administering first aide, taking other steps as needed (see Emergency Procedures below)

• Responsible for carrying out daily schedule and for reporting any problems in this area to the Residence Manager, Coordinator of Residential Community or Coordinator of Support Services

• Responsible for ensuring the safety and welfare of students in the pool area
