Position: Junior Real Estate Associate
Location: Washington, D.C. (Hybrid - 3/4 days in office)
Experience Required: 1-3 years post-bar experience

Overview
We is seeking a Junior Real Estate Associate to join its nationally ranked Band 1 Real Estate Practice. This role is ideal for attorneys with 1-3 years of experience in real estate transactions, real estate finance, or both, preferably from a BigLaw or comparable law firm. Associates work on sophisticated institutional real estate deals with significant client exposure and responsibility from the outset.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate:
- Purchase & Sale Agreements (PSAs)
- Loan agreements
- Mortgages
- Joint Venture (JV) agreements
- Manage transaction and closing checklists.
- Coordinate signatures and closing deliverables for multi-party transactions.
- Conduct due diligence reviews involving:
- Title and survey
- Zoning
- Environmental matters
- Lease reviews
- Coordinate with title companies, surveyors, and local counsel.
- Participate in client and opposing counsel calls.
- Assist with:
- Mortgage financings
- Mezzanine financings
- Subscription/capital commitment-backed credit facilities
- Joint venture formations
Required Qualifications
- J.D. degree and active bar admission.
- 1-3 years of post-bar experience in:
- Real estate transactions, and/or
- Real estate finance.
- Experience gained at a BigLaw or comparable firm.
- Strong drafting, due diligence, and transaction management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in lean deal teams.

- Experience representing both lenders and borrowers.
- Exposure to:
- Mezzanine debt
- Preferred equity structures
- Subscription finance facilities
- Complex capital stack transactions
- Experience handling institutional-scale commercial real estate transactions
