SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER - MIDDLE AND UPPER SCHOOL

United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry has the pleasure of assisting a successful, prestigious Manhattan private school who is seeking experienced 6-12th Grade Special Education Teachers.

The following specialty needs are:

Math

Science

English

Social Science

History

Salary - $75,000-$80,000 depending on experience

Excellent benefits package - Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K

Hours - Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for various school events.

Responsibilities for the Special Education Teacher:

Create academic plans and goals based on assessment data

Supervise a 1:1 classroom and 2:1 instructors in the classroom

Monitor and analyze each student's progress related to communication, academics, behavior and social skills

Responsible for academic and behavior analytic assessments

Work with service providers, home base providers, parents and the multidisciplinary team

Requirements for the Special Education Teacher:

Minimum of a MA in Special Education or a related field

Minimum of 3 years previous teaching experience in a special education setting

Working knowledge of IEPs

Ability to work with parents, teachers and faculty

NYS Certification in Special Education

NYS Certification in Childhood Education or Secondary Education

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must be able to provide 3 employment references
