Texas Air Hydraulic in Longview is hiring a manual lathe and mill machinist. THIS IS NOT A MACHINE OPERATOR. IT IS A MANUAL MACHINIST POSITION THAT IS ABLE TO PERFORM DUTIES LISTED BELOW. Must be able to run manual lathes and mills and be able to single point threads. You must have your own tools. We manufacture barrels, heads, pistons, and rods for hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders. You will be required in the second part of the interview to indicate a chrome rod in lathe to make O.D. cuts to size on both ends as well as thread the part to factory specs. You must be able to set parts up in three-jaw as well as a four-jaw chuck, and zero materials in using a bed steady rest. You must also be able to go off samples as well as drawings provided, we do not have automatic machines so manual machine experience is required for this position. You will be required in part two of interview to indicate a chrome rod, cut both ends of rod to size specs as well as threading. Our machine shop is climate controlled. Pay will depend upon experience and will be discussed during the interview process. We offer a bonus program in addition to salary.
