Job Description

Job Description Job Description Outdoor Living Sales Consultant / Outside Sales Representative

Join a Company Where Salespeople Are Supported, Trained, and Set Up to Win

Legacy Decking is growing, and we are looking for the right salesperson to grow with us.

This is not a cold-calling, figure-it-out-yourself, chaos-filled sales role. This is an opportunity to step into a company with strong inbound leads, warm prospects, a proven sales process, clear systems, real training, and a culture that genuinely wants you to succeed.

We are looking for someone who is sharp, coachable, approachable, well-spoken, motivated, and hungry to grow. You do not need to come from construction. You do not need to know everything about decks or outdoor living. We can train the right person.

What we cannot train is attitude.

If you bring a great attitude, strong communication skills, humility, work ethic, and the ability to learn from mistakes quickly, this could be a life-changing opportunity.

What's In It for You

This role is built for a salesperson who wants opportunity, structure, support, and long-term growth.

You will receive:

Warm, inbound, qualified leads
No cold calling. No chasing random homeowners who never asked to speak with us. Our marketing brings in leads, and your job is to qualify them, guide them, sell them, and help them make a confident decision.

Real earning potential
This position offers commission per sale only, with total earning potential from $80,000 to $250,000 per year. Top performers have the opportunity to reach the higher end of that range.

A proven sales system
You will not be left guessing what to say or how to sell. We have a dialed-in script, a proven process, and a clear understanding of what works and what does not.

Training and support
We invest in our people. You will receive support from leadership, sales management, design, project coordination, and production so you can focus on selling.

No project management after the sale
Once you sell the job, you hand it off to production and move on to the next client. You are not expected to babysit projects, run crews, or manage chaos in the field.

High-end projects and better clients
You will be selling high-end outdoor living projects, typically ranging from $50,000 to $200,000. These are meaningful projects for homeowners who are investing in their homes and lifestyle.

Growth with the company
As Legacy Decking grows, we want our people to grow with us. Over time, the right person can earn more flexibility, higher commission opportunities, bonuses, paid time off, company perks, and potentially a company vehicle.

Company vehicle and company card opportunity
After your 90-day review, we will discuss company vehicle, company card, and full benefit details. Before that review, mileage reimbursement will be provided for driving to estimates.

A strong culture
We care about culture. We care about people. We care about growth. We push each other to improve, succeed, and become better. This is a values-driven team where bad energy, arrogance, negativity, and cowboy sales behavior do not fit.

Who This Role Is Perfect For

This role is ideal for someone who:
  • Wants to be part of a growing company with real opportunity
  • Is motivated by income, growth, and personal development
  • Communicates well and presents themselves professionally
  • Is coachable and willing to follow a proven process
  • Can learn quickly and adapt to a new environment
  • Does not get stuck after making a mistake
  • Wants support, structure, and training
  • Is a kind human being with a good attitude
  • Wants to sell premium projects to qualified homeowners
  • Wants to be part of a team that is pushing to win together
You do not need construction experience. You do not need to already be an expert in decks or outdoor living. We are willing to train the right person.

Who This Role Is NOT For

This is not the right fit for someone who:
  • Thinks they already know everything
  • Refuses coaching
  • Brings negative energy
  • Acts like a "cowboy closer"
  • Overpromises just to close a deal
  • Does not care about the client experience
  • Cannot follow a proven system
  • Wants to do things their own way without accountability
  • Has poor communication skills
  • Is not willing to work hard and grow
We are not looking for the stereotypical arrogant top closer from another company who burns bridges and creates problems. We are looking for someone who is professional, humble, hungry, and willing to learn.

What You'll Be Selling

You will be selling high-end outdoor living projects, including premium decks and related outdoor spaces.

Typical project sizes range from $50,000 to $200,000.

These are not small handyman jobs. These are meaningful, high-value projects where homeowners are investing in their home, their lifestyle, and their outdoor space.

What You'll Actually Do

Your main responsibility is to sell.

You will:

  1. Call new inbound leads
  2. Qualify the lead
  3. Schedule appointments
  4. Meet with qualified prospects
  5. Run the sales appointment
  6. Help the client understand their options
  7. Schedule and conduct proposal presentations
  8. Close the sale
  9. Hand the sold project off to production
  10. Move on to the next client
You will be expected to follow our process, use our systems, communicate clearly, and stay organized.

You will be working with warm inbound leads, paid marketing leads, and qualified homeowners who have already shown interest in what we do.

What Support You'll Have

You will not be doing this alone.

You will have support from:
  • Sales Manager
  • Designer
  • Project Manager
  • Project Coordinator
  • Production team
  • Leadership team
Our goal is to remove chaos from your plate so you can focus on what you do best: building trust, guiding clients, and closing sales.

Expectations for Success

We are looking for someone who can grow into a high-performing sales role.

Success in this position means:
  • Selling over $1.5 million in 12 months
  • Closing approximately 25% of prospects met
  • Closing your first deal within the first 30 days as an early success benchmark
  • Maintaining strong follow-up and communication
  • Following the proven Legacy Decking sales process
  • Representing the company professionally
  • Creating a great client experience
  • Staying coachable and improving continuously
You can expect a minimum average of around 5 booked appointments per week, depending on the season. Some seasons are busier with more leads, and some seasons are slower.

Schedule and Location

This is a full-time role with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week.

Some evening appointments and meetings will be required depending on client availability.

You should be located within approximately a 1-hour drive from our Everett office with no traffic, since you will be traveling to appointments and meeting with clients in person.

Compensation

This position includes:
  • Base pay
  • Commission per sale
  • Total earning potential of $80,000 to $250,000 per year
  • Mileage reimbursement before 90-day review
  • Company vehicle and company card opportunity after 90-day review
  • Paid time off
  • Bonus and growth opportunities over time
Full benefit details will be discussed after the 90-day review.

Requirements

To be considered, you must have:
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean driving record
  • Strong communication skills
  • Professional appearance
  • Good attitude
  • Coachable mindset
  • Ability to work full time
  • Willingness to follow a proven sales process
  • Ability to travel to appointments
  • Desire to grow with the company
Construction experience is not required.

Sales experience is helpful, but the right attitude, communication skills, and coachability matter more.

Why Legacy Decking?

Because this is more than just another sales job.

At Legacy Decking, you are stepping into a company with opportunity, culture, support, training, and real growth potential.

You will not be left alone to figure everything out. You will not be expected to cold call. You will not be buried in project management after the sale. You will not be stuck in a company that does not care about its people.

You will be part of a team that is building something bigger.

If you want a place where you can grow, earn, learn, be supported, and be part of an amazing culture, this may be the opportunity you have been waiting for.
