Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fabricator / MIG Welder to join our team. This position requires an individual with strong MIG welding skills, fabrication experience, and exceptional attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be capable of fitting, fabricating, and welding custom metal components while maintaining high-quality standards and precise specifications.
This is not a production welding position. Candidates must be able to perform accurate fit-up work and ensure finished products meet exact measurements and quality requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform MIG welding on a variety of fabricated metal components.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
Complete fit-up and fabrication of parts prior to welding.
Measure, cut, grind, and prepare materials according to specifications.
Inspect parts and finished welds to ensure quality standards are met.
Utilize measuring tools including tape measures, squares, levels, and calipers.
Maintain precise tolerances and ensure accuracy throughout the fabrication process.
Operate fabrication equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of welding and fabrication equipment.
Identify and report quality concerns or material defects.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Previous MIG welding and fabrication experience required.
Ability to perform detailed fit-up work with minimal supervision.
Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
Experience using measuring devices and layout tools.
Ability to work with precision and maintain high-quality workmanship.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as required.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and work in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to safely operate welding and fabrication equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with custom fabrication projects.
Experience working in a metal fabrication or machine shop environment.
Knowledge of welding symbols and fabrication layouts.
