Facility in Ketchikan, AK seeking Hospitalist locums coverage Rates: $190-$200/hr Opportunity Highlights
- Start Date: Expected May 21, 2026.
- Duration: 6 months (Intermittent coverage for approximately 1 week per month).
- Schedule: 12-hour variable shifts (7:00 AM 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM 7:00 AM).
- Shift Details: Day and Night shifts available; no formal call required.
- Gaps to Fill: Current specific needs for May, June, and July.
Clinical Scope & Responsibilities The Hospitalist will function as a solo provider, managing both Med/Surg and ICU patients within a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital.
- Daily Census: Average of 10 cases per day.
- Patient Demographic: Adults (18+). While Pediatricians admit and follow their own patients, the Hospitalist may occasionally be consulted.
- ICU Management: Responsible for rounding and admissions in the ICU.
- Required Procedures: Ventilation Management: Required.
- Intubation & Central Lines: Highly preferred.
- EMR: EPIC (Experience preferred).
- Working Solo: Yes.
Provider Requirements
- Board Status: Board Certified (BC) in Hospital Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
- Licensure: Active Alaska (AK) State License and AK DEA in hand (Required). No "willing to license" candidates.
- Certifications: Active BLS and ACLS (Required).
- Case Logs: Must provide documentation of IM or FM services representative of the scope and complexity of privileges from the past 24 months (waived for recent graduates).
