ATC West Healthcare is seeking a General Surgeon for ongoing locum coverage in Dickinson, North Dakota, with an urgent need for July availability. This position combines 24/7 call coverage with clinic responsibilities, scheduled surgeries, inpatient rounding, and emergency surgical care in a small community hospital setting. The ideal candidate will be comfortable practicing independently and managing a broad range of general surgery cases.

- November 24 (7:00 AM) December 1 (7:00 AM)
- December 17 (7:00 AM) December 29 (7:00 AM)
- Ongoing future availability as needed
Weekly Schedule
Clinic & Surgery Schedule
- Monday: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM clinic
- Tuesday: Scheduled surgeries, followed by clinic as time allows
- Wednesday: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM clinic
- Thursday: Scheduled surgeries, followed by clinic as time allows
- Friday: 8:00 AM 2:00 PM clinic
Call Expectations
- 24/7 call coverage during assignment blocks
- Approximately 10 days of call coverage per month
- Required response time: 20 minutes
- Available for phone consultations, admissions, and rounding on general surgery patients
- Average of 0-5 general surgery patients per 24-hour call period

- Trauma Level: IV
- Bed Count: 25 beds
- Average daily census: 15 patients
- Scheduled surgeries Monday-Friday
- Emergency surgeries available 24/7
- Anesthesia support provided by a CRNA group
Clinical Responsibilities
The provider will:
- Perform scheduled and emergent general surgery procedures
- Conduct outpatient clinic visits
- Manage inpatient rounding for general surgery patients
- Provide phone consultations and admissions
- Participate in continuous call coverage

Required Skills & Qualifications Required
- Board Eligible (within 3 years of completing U.S. residency) or Board Certified General Surgeon
- ATLS certification
- PALS certification
- DEA registration
- Current NPDB Self-Query Report dated within 30 days of presentation
- Ability to complete credentialing paperwork promptly (application due within 7 days)
Highly Preferred
- Active North Dakota medical license
- Candidates holding Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) eligibility will be considered
- Clean malpractice and licensure history

- Physicians actively participating in monitoring agreements
- Providers with revoked licenses or revoked clinical privileges
