Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated COTA to join our Vernon, AL team on a part-time basis. Working under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will help implement treatment plans and support patients in improving their ability to perform daily activities and achieve greater independence.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Occupational Therapists in conducting patient evaluations and assessments to determine functional status and develop treatment plans.
  • Implement individualized treatment programs designed to improve patients' ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, and fine motor skills.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, including therapeutic exercises, activities, and modalities.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and adaptive equipment to enhance independence and overall function.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, outcomes, and responses to treatment interventions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of progress notes, treatment sessions, and discharge summaries.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current certification as a COTA by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a COTA in Alabama.
  • CPR certification (BLS).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support patients, families, and fellow healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, especially rehabilitation or skilled nursing.
  • Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid regulations related to occupational therapy services.
  • Specialized training or certifications in geriatrics, pediatrics, neurorehabilitation, or related areas.
Working Conditions
