This locum OB/GYN opportunity in Grass Valley offers urgent and ongoing 24-hour call coverage in a hospital-based Family Birthing Center with a dedicated OR for C-sections. The provider will manage deliveries, perform C-sections, and provide ED call coverage for OB/GYN-related cases while working alongside a strong multidisciplinary support team. The assignment is due to provider cancellation and maternity leave coverage needs.

Job Details / Responsibilities
- Hospital-based OB/GYN coverage in a Family Birthing Center with its own OR
- Handle:
- Vaginal deliveries
- C-sections
- ED call coverage for OB/GYN-related emergencies
- Monthly delivery volume:
- Average deliveries per month
- Current range reported at deliveries monthly
- EMR system: Cerner
- Support staff includes:
- On-call anesthesiologists
- General surgeons
- Local OB/GYN physicians
- Family Medicine OB physician
- Pediatrician on-call
- Experienced respiratory therapists
- Credentialing timeframe: minimum 10 days from completed application
- No additional facility credentialing required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Board Certified OB/GYN or Board Eligible within 5 years
- Active California medical license required
- DEA certification required during credentialing
- Completion of ACGME- or AOA-accredited OB/GYN residency
- Current certification or active board certification process through:
- American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, or
- American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Demonstrated performance of at least 100 gynecologic surgical procedures within the past 2 years or equivalent fellowship/residency experience
- Experience with full-scope OB/GYN procedures
- Clean malpractice history preferred
- NPDB Self-Query report dated within 30 days of presentation required
- Availability required at time of name clear
Additional Credentialing & Proctoring Requirements
- OB proctoring includes observation of:
- Two non-emergency deliveries
- One observed C-section if C-section privileges requested
- GYN proctoring includes observation of:
- One hysteroscopy
- One operative laparoscopy
- One open laparotomy
- Three-month retrospective review required
- Initial applicants must provide:
- Procedure/case logs from previous 24 months
- Residency/fellowship logs if recently trained
- Program director competency letter if applicable
