Advanced Practice Provider (Oncology NP/PA) - Salem, OR

Job Type: Full-Time (On-site)

Schedule options: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM

  • 4 days/week (4 10s) - preferred

  • 5 days/week (5 8s)

Minimal Call Requirements: One 24-hour holiday call per year

Optional additional paid coverage: Evening call (Weekend inpatient rounding)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join a collaborative oncology team in Salem, OR. This role involves delivering comprehensive cancer care across both inpatient and outpatient settings.

The APP will work closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to manage patient care, provide treatment education, monitor therapy, and support patients throughout their oncology journey. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced oncology APPs and candidates looking to transition into oncology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and manage oncology patients in inpatient and outpatient settings

  • Perform physical exams and review patient medical histories

  • Develop and support treatment plans in collaboration with physicians

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and lab results

  • Prescribe medications and manage treatment regimens

  • Conduct chemotherapy education and consent visits

  • Monitor and manage treatment-related toxicities

  • Provide patient education and counseling

  • Assist with triage and urgent clinical issues

  • Support medication, infusion, and care coordination workflows

  • Perform survivorship visits and advanced care planning

  • Document all patient care accurately in EMR systems

  • Participate in inpatient rounding when required

  • Perform bone marrow biopsies (training provided; additional compensation available)

Qualifications:

Required

  • National certification as ANP, FNP, GNP, or PA-C

  • Active or eligible Oregon State license (APRN or PA)

  • Minimum 2+ years of clinical experience

  • Strong EMR and computer skills

  • Ability to work in a collaborative clinical environment

Preferred

  • Oncology experience as an APP

  • Oncology RN background (for new graduates)

  • DEA license

  • Additional Certifications (Incentivized)

  • Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP)

  • Palliative Care Certification


Additional compensation for:

Sign-On & Relocation:

  • $10,000 sign-on bonus (paid with first paycheck)
