Weekend Coverage: Friday 7:00 AM through Monday 7:00 AM
Provider will round onsite each morning to evaluate and manage patients
Onsite call during daytime hours and after-hours call as needed
Rarely required to return onsite after hours

Average Weekend Patient Volume: 5 patients/day
Patient Population:
General population with a high burden of elderly patients
Common comorbidities include smoking, alcohol use, diabetes, and hypertension
Occasional VA patient population
General inpatient cardiology coverage
Typical cases include:
Atrial fibrillation
Rapid ventricular response (RVR)
Coronary heart disease and related cardiology conditions
Rounds Required: Yes (typically 2 4 hours)
Admits: Rare (hospitalist team usually handles admissions)
Sole Provider: Yes, for general cardiology
Interventional cardiology patients managed by interventional cardiology team
Interventional cardiology coverage available 24/7
Echo technician available 24/7
Support staff includes:
Echo services
EKG services
Intensivist coverage: Available as noted above
Degree: MD or DO
Board Certification: Required

Cardiology required
Family Practice or Internal Medicine trained physicians not accepted

Licensure:
Active Kentucky license strongly preferred due to April start date and lengthy onboarding process for new licenses

Coronary artery disease
Ischemic heart disease
Pericardial disease
Cardiomyopathies
Endocarditis
Dysrhythmias
Valvular heart disease
Adult congenital heart disease
Disorders of veins, arteries, and pulmonary circulation
