Pathology Physician

ATC West Healthcare is seeking a Board Certified Pathologist to provide hospital-based pathology coverage beginning August 2026 due to a provider resignation. This locum opportunity offers a collaborative practice environment within a Level I trauma center, working alongside an established pathology team with strong laboratory support staff and access to modern pathology equipment and Epic EMR.

• Coverage start date: August 10, 2026
• Assignment duration: Ongoing until permanent hire is onboarded
• Estimated credentialing timeframe: Approximately 90 days
• Schedule:
  • Day shifts
  • Hours between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM depending on rotation
• Call schedule:
  • Every 7 days
  • 1:7 call rotation

• Practice setting: Hospital-based pathology laboratory
• Facility details:
  • Level I Trauma Center
  • CAP-certified laboratory
• Average patient volume: 40 patients per day
• Average pathology workload:
  • cases read per day
• Clinical responsibilities include:
  • Surgical pathology interpretation
  • Blood bank call coverage at night
  • Rapid evaluation of adequacy for image-guided biopsies
• No grossing responsibilities required
• No frozen section cutting on cryostat required
• Work alongside:
  • 6 pathologists
  • 5 histotechnologists
  • 1 pathology assistant
  • 1 cytotechnologist
• No supervision of other healthcare providers required
• Other pathologists present during coverage
• Equipment and systems:
  • Leica cryostat
  • Olympus BX40 microscopes
  • Epic EMR/documentation system

• Board Certified Pathologist required
• Active Minnesota license preferred
• Must be able to perform all required procedures listed
• NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation required
• Epic experience preferred
