$20- $25 per hour - Part-Time - 16- Hours - Contracted -1 YEAR Grant-Funded - Horticulture - Greenhouse - Vocational ProgramSchedulePart-Time - 16 Hours - Daytime hoursSchedule may vary based on seasonal greenhouse needs and program activitiesAbout Our House, Inc.At Our House, Inc., we provide innovative programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), focusing on skill-building, independence, and community integration.Our greenhouse program offers hands-on vocational and therapeutic opportunities where individuals develop practical skills through horticulture, gardening, and environmental programming.We are seeking a Part-Time Greenhouse Coordinator to lead daily greenhouse operations while supporting a vocational training environment for adults with disabilities.Position SummaryGreenhouse Coordinator - Horticulture Specialist - Vocational Program Support - IDD ServicesThe Part-Time Greenhouse Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management of a horticulture and greenhouse program within a nonprofit setting.This role combines plant care, greenhouse operations, and program coordination, helping create a structured environment where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities can build vocational, life, and social skills.This is an ideal opportunity for someone with experience in gardening, agriculture, or greenhouse management who is interested in mission-driven work and community impact.ClassificationContracted, Grant-Funded - 1 Year Contract (can be extended based on funding)Reports to: Assistant Director of Day Services (Woodbridge)Must be 21 years of age or olderValid driver's license with a good driving recordExperience in horticulture, gardening, agriculture, or greenhouse operationsAbility to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periodsAbility to work independently and manage daily greenhouse responsibilitiesPreferred:Certificate or coursework in horticulture, environmental science, agriculture, or related fieldKnowledge of sustainable, organic, or environmentally responsible growing practicesExperience working in a nonprofit, vocational program, or grant-funded environmentExperience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) or similar populationsKey ResponsibilitiesGreenhouse OperationsPlan and manage daily greenhouse activities including planting, watering, pruning, and harvestingMonitor plant health, soil conditions, pest control, and environmental factors such as temperature and humidityMaintain inventory of plants, seeds, tools, and suppliesEnsure the greenhouse remains clean, organized, and safeProgram CoordinationSupport vocational and therapeutic programming within the greenhouse environmentAssist with plant production for sales, farmers markets, or community distribution (as applicable)Track program participation and maintain basic records for grant reportingCollaboration & Team SupportWork collaboratively with day program staff and leadershipCommunicate program progress, challenges, and updatesAssist with community engagement activities, including volunteer events and workshopsSafety & ComplianceFollow all safety procedures, accessibility standards, and program guidelinesMaintain awareness of best practices in horticulture and disability servicesReport any incidents, maintenance needs, or safety concerns promptlyWhat You'll GainOpportunity to work in a hands-on horticulture and greenhouse environmentMeaningful, mission-driven work supporting individuals with disabilitiesFlexible part-time scheduleExperience in a growing nonprofit vocational programAbility to contribute to sustainable and community-based initiativesCompensation & BenefitsPay: $20.00/hour - $25.00/hourPart-Time Benefits Include:401(k) planTuition assistanceSick paid time offEqual Opportunity EmployerEqual Opportunity EmployerOur House, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
