JOB TITLE:

Maintenance Technician- Lead

REPORTS TO:

On-Site Maintenance Manager

JOB SUMMARY

The primary purpose of the Lead Technician is to ensure smooth functioning of the plant equipment through efficient preventative maintenance with the utilization of all safety related tactics and practices.

Lead Technicians are responsible for the development and general training of all Level II and Level III technicians. All level Lead Technicians must be proficient both with the maintenance and operation of the CBW (Tunnel Wash / Dry System), Power Plant and associated equipment as well as other automated and non- automated equipment throughout the plant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Spend time working and learning in all departments to absorb Crown Healthcare Laundry Services equipment, and maintenance procedures.
  • Departments include sorting, loading, washing, drying, sanitizing, ironing, folding, packaging, counting, maintenance, recording production quantities and using industrial laundry equipment.
  • Must use safety precautions and follow all company and industry related safety rules and practices.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day safe machine operation.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled.
  • Works collaboratively with all employees
  • Must be able to operate (Start up / Shut Down) the power plant based upon schedule and plant requirements.
  • Serves as the maintenance manager in his absence.
  • Updates utilities in key figures
  • Order and receive purchases using LogicSource OneMarket.
  • Prioritizing job and repair lists with junior maintenance technicians.


OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Any other duties as assigned or deemed necessary.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without accommodation.
  • Trade / Technical school degree or certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a lead maintenance related function.
  • Proficient with electrical motors and motor controllers, wiring single and three phase components, ability to read electrical schematics, ability to trouble shoot and work with PLC and VFD, good mechanical skills, welding, pipe fitting, gear boxes, shafts, sprockets, good hydraulic skills to include proportional valves, cylinders and pneumatics.

  • The ability to speak and read English proficiently.

DECISION MAKING ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Must seek approval from the Maintenance Manager for any deviations to regular policies and procedures.
  • Must seek Maintenance Manager for authority to make decisions about repair work quickly within boundaries of routine repairs and direct / train junior maintenance personnel.


REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
