Our team is seeking a skilled Commercial Overhead Door Technician with experience in installation, service, and repair of industrial and commercial door systems to service our customers in the Greater Cincinnati / Southwest Ohio region.This role is ideal for a technician with strong mechanical aptitude, electrical troubleshooting capability, and experience working with rolling steel doors, sectional doors, high-speed doors, dock equipment, door operators, and access systems.This is a field service role, focused on delivering high-quality work across commercial, industrial, institutional, and logistics facilities.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform installation, repair, and preventative maintenance on: Commercial sectional overhead doorsRolling steel doors and grillesHigh-speed / rapid roll-up doorsLoading dock equipment (levelers, seals, restraints)Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issuesRepair or replace: Springs, cables, rollers, tracks, hinges, operators, and motorsDoor openers, sensors, relays, and control panelsConduct safety inspections and compliance checks (ANSI, OSHA, industry codes)Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagramsComplete service documentation, work orders, and inspection reportsMaintain company vehicle, tools, and stocked inventoryInterface professionally with customers, site managers, and dispatch teams Required Qualifications2+ years of experience in: Commercial overhead door repairGarage door installation (commercial/industrial)OR related trades (mechanical, electrical, millwright, facilities maintenance)Strong knowledge of: Torsion spring systems and counterbalance systemsCommercial door operators (LiftMaster, Genie, etc.)Electrical troubleshooting (24V/120V/240V systems)Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights (ladders, lifts)Valid driver's license with clean driving recordWillingness to work on-call / emergency service rotationPreferred QualificationsExperience with rolling steel door repair, dock leveler service, or industrial door systemsCertifications such as: IDEA (Institute of Door Dealer Education and Accreditation)OSHA 10/30Familiarity with: Access control systems and security integrationWelding / fabricationPreventative maintenance programs for facilitiesExperience in field service technician roles, mobile technician environments, or IFM (Integrated Facilities Management)Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive hourly wage based on experienceOvertime opportunitiesCompany vehicle (for qualified technicians with a good driving record)Tool allowance / company-provided toolsHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysCareer growth opportunities within Integrated Facilities Management ServicesWhy Join Us?Strong backlog of commercial and industrial workFocus on self-performed service delivery with an experienced team of professionalsInvestment in technician training and certificationsStructured dispatching and scheduling supportOpportunity to work across Class A office, industrial, education, and logistics facilitiestdgFacilities is a full-service facilities management company based in Cincinnati, OH with over 6M square feet under management in OH, IN, KY, TN, GA, AL & FL.
