Job DetailsOur client is seeking a Corporate Controller to oversee the financial policies and accounting practices of a joint-venture organization comprising three companies in the HVAC and distribution industry, servicing sixteen states from multiple branch locations.
About the Job:
- This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you will initially travel heavily to Oregon, Seattle, and Alaska to work directly with each of the three portfolio companies - getting them up to speed on US GAAP compliance, standardizing financial processes, and building a strong accounting foundation at each entity. As things stabilize you will work toward consolidating financials across all three companies and driving future synergies. -Travel will be significant in the first 6-12 months and taper to approximately once per quarter as the foundation is built.
- You will also lead a critical ERP implementation - migrating from Sage to Acumatica across the organization.
Responsibilities include:
- Directing AP, AR, cash management, tax, and year-end audit preparation
- Producing financial statements and maintaining accurate accounting records
- Implementing and maintaining internal controls across all three entities
- Leading the annual budget process
- Managing a direct team of 8-10 accounting professionals
- Consolidating financial reporting across multiple company systems
- Ensuring GAAP compliance across all entities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA and/or MBA preferred
- 10+ years of accounting management experience including management of complex, multi-entity accounting operations
- Demonstrated experience leading accounting teams across multi-location or complex organizations
- Experience with ERP systems and implementations - Acumatica and Sage experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ability to implement compliance standards across multiple entities
- Experience consolidating financials across multiple companies or business units
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously including remote staff
- Significant experience in Microsoft Office - advanced Excel required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability and willingness to travel heavily in the first 6-12 months - Pacific Northwest and Alaska
- Must be comfortable working independently and taking ownership of the full accounting function at each entity
- High level of confidentiality and professional integrity required
- Location: Fully on-site in Eden Prairie, MN or Brooklyn Park, MN
- Travel: Heavy travel required in first 6-12 months to Oregon, Seattle, and Alaska. Approximately once per quarter thereafter.
