DuPage Public Safety Communications (DU-COMM) is the largest consolidated 9-1-1 communications center within the State of Illinois and located in Wheaton at our newer facility. DU-COMM is a 24 hour, 7 day a week operation serving 45 Police/Fire/EMS agencies throughout DuPage County.

Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Technician is to assist in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of DU-COMM systems including: two-way radio, telephone, microwave, network transport, control, power, alarm, and others at DU-COMM facilities. Provide first-tier support on all systems within the DU-COMM 9-1-1 communication center and radio tower sites. Basic knowledge of facility management: electrical, HVAC, networks, plumbing, and property management is a plus. The Technician must be able to determine the extent of the problem and address in-house, or escalate to a vendor. Additionally, a successful candidate must be able to communicate the issue and the resolution timeline with DU-COMM staff and member agencies.
This is an in-person position. Hours are full-time, primarily weekdays from 8:00am to 4:30pm, with a one-week on-call rotation every 4 weeks and additional hours required based on operational need. This position reports to the Technical Services Manager.

Salary:
• Starting Annual Pay: $95,243 (see Public Act 97-609 Posting for salary range)
