This assignment brings you into a dynamic Med/Surg environment, ideal for nurses looking to deepen their clinical skills and expand their professional network. As part of a teaching hospital, you'll work alongside respected leaders in healthcare, gaining firsthand exposure to diverse approaches to patient care, learning from seasoned colleagues, and potentially even precepting students and new hires-excellent for resume growth. Schedule/Hours:

  • 13-week contract
  • 12-hour day shifts (6:30 am-7:00 pm)
  • Guaranteed 36 hours per week (option for 48 hours upon request)
  • Weekend requirement: three weekends per six-week schedule; every other holiday

Qualifications:

  • Active compact RN license
  • AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications (must be submitted upon applying)
  • Minimum 2 years recent, strong Med/Surg RN experience
  • At least 1 prior travel assignment
  • Trauma Level II background
  • Recent Epic charting experience (will need to complete a checkoff class)
  • Proficient with remote tele, chest/NG/PEG tubes, Foleys, ostomies, drips, trach care, and PCA management
  • Demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and strong assessment/critical thinking skills

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to a varied Med/Surg patient population (post-surgical, UTI, sepsis, COPD, CHF, and high fall risk)
  • Float between local campuses as needed within your skillset (all within a short drive)
  • May provide guidance as a preceptor for students/new hires
