Kindergarten through Fifth grade Classroom Teachers will implement a Core Knowledge curriculum. Homeroom subjects will include Language Arts (Riggs or Spalding for phonics), Mathematics (Singapore), History and Geography (American/World History and Geography), Science, and Chess.
Subject-area specialists will teach Foreign Language, Music, Art, and Physical Education courses in Lower School (Elementary School) and/or Middle School.
Certification is not required to teach at any of the Great Hearts Academies. Great Hearts teachers, whether certified or not, demonstrate a commitment to and love for the liberal arts. However, Great Hearts does ask that our teachers be able to demonstrate they are qualified to teach the subjects they are assigned.
