Practice Area: Government / Energy Regulatory / Oil & Gas
Experience: 1-3 years
Compensation: $225,000-$260,000
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 1-3 years of experience (or a strong demonstrated interest) in oil and gas and energy regulatory work to join the firm's Washington, DC office.
The ideal candidate will have experience or strong interest in:
- Oil and gas regulatory matters
- Representing large integrated oil and gas and energy companies
- Federal energy policy and regulatory initiatives
- Administrative law and challenges to federal agency action
- Administrative appeals
- Civil enforcement defense and related litigation
- Government-facing counseling and regulatory strategy
Strong preference will be given to candidates with background in federal statutes impacting the energy industry, including:
- NEPA
- Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act (OCSLA)
- Mineral Leasing Act
- Endangered Species Act (ESA)
- Clean Water Act (CWA)
Candidates should bring:
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Interest in energy, environmental, and regulatory developments
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
- DC Bar admission or eligibility to waive in
- Ability to be in-office at least three business days per week
