We at Sygnetics Healthcare, a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned firm, are searching for strong Healthcare providers who share our passion to care for our nation s veterans.

We have an immediate need for an Urgent Care Physician to provide outpatient medical services for our veteran population at the Erie VA Medical Center located in Erie, PA. This role offers a flexible assignment with an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while experiencing the rich natural beauty of the Great Lake shoreline.

Must have completed a residency in Internal Medicine or Family Practice and be Board Certified / Board Eligible.

Credentialling and onboarding takes 4-6 weeks

Scope of Care: Including, but not limited to:

  • Evaluation and Treatment: Provide urgent care triage and assessment, order and evaluate diagnostic tests as appropriate and recommend treatment. Document clinical assessments, treatment decisions, medications ordered, diagnostic tests, and referral consultations as needed for every patient encounter using the electronic comprehensive patient record system (CPRS) on the day of the encounter per Erie VA Medical Center Bylaws.
  • Stabilization and transfer: As per 38 USC 1784A, when patients require a level of care higher than can be reasonably provided within the capabilities of the facility, the Contracted physicians shall provide appropriate stabilization prior to, or in concert with, transfer to a medical facility able to provide the level of care required.
  • Consultation and Referral: Contracted physicians shall provide consultation with, and instruction to referring physicians regarding clinically appropriate care. Contracted physicians shall determine the appropriate course of treatment and communicate in person or by phone with the referring clinicians.
  • Medications: Contracted physicians shall follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients.
  • Communication of Test Results: Mechanisms must be in place to provide notification of test results for patients receiving care in accordance with VHA Directive 1088, Communicating Test Results to Providers and Patients.
  • Discharge education: Contracted physicians shall provide discharge education and follow up instructions for Urgent Care Center patients.

Hours & Schedule:

  • Erie VA Medical Center s Urgent Care Center operates daily from Monday Friday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM including federal holidays.
  • Exact physician schedule will be communicated on site.
